(December 29, 1942 - April 14, 2023)

 

In memory of our beloved mentor, colleague, and friend, Harold L. Novick (“Hal”), who passed away on April 14, 2023, at the age of 80. He will be greatly missed by colleagues and clients alike.

 

Hal was born and grew up in Philadelphia. He joined the U.S. Navy and served as a submarine nuclear physics engineer reaching the rank of Lieutenant, and he often spoke fondly of his experience in the Navy. In 1972, he graduated George Washington University J.D. with honors, and thereafter accomplished an illustrious career of 50 years in the field of intellectual property law.

 

Hal was known for his expertise and passion for patent, trademark, and copyright law. He counseled countless clients to secure and protect their IP and mentored generations of junior attorneys. He also loved traveling and teaching, and often times did both to leave an indelible mark all over the world. He was selfless with his time and knowledge.

 

We at Bridgeway IP Law Group had the honor and privilege of working together with Hal. Many of us were mentored and trained by him, and referred to him as “Professor Novick”. His experience, knowledge, and friendship will be greatly missed.
